Description and characteristics
Melvino 2017
A garnet-colored wine with aromas of black cherries and a hint of oak. Notes of chocolate and orchard fruit come to the fore on the velvety palate.
Hand-harvested grapes, gently destemmed without crushing the berries; the must is fermented on the skins for 14-18 days with regular punch-downs of the cap. Pressing is followed by malolactic fermentation to soften the wine. Matured for 6 months in stainless steel tanks, then for 1 – 2 years in barrique or oak casks.
